Mangovõi??

Neighbors got us an omiyage from a trip a while ago, label on the small yellow jar translates into "mango butter". Now, finally allowed to try it out, made a pile of pancakes and gave it a go. Very aptly named product - mango puree somehow made to adopt the consistency of soft spreadable butter (actually not sure what else it is made out of, should probably try to check, but having to read food labels is currently high up in my personal blacklist). Plenty of taste in one teaspoon for an entire whole-pan cake. Approved!

Incidentally, one, and just one, of the entire tower of crepes (apparently I'm not supposed to call then pancakes, because in English a pancake only means a small, round and fluffy thing, oehhh...) turned out perfect. Almost, but not quite as perfect as the best and thinnest pancakes (oh, whatever) I've ever had, made by M just once, and then never again. I mean, she kept making pancakes, they just never were as good as that batch when I got to taste any. But at least that entire pile was equally amazing - now if someone would care to explain how, from the same batter, I managed to make just ONE turn out better than the rest using the same pan, heat, oil etc... Confucius Maximus.

Cheers,
Hedi
