Indications of having actually moved in to a new place:
- first portion of patent mushrooms successfully made
- obtained knowledge about which shop to go to for milk, which for berries, which for beer (that, believe it or not, even I don't spit out), which for yakiimo and which for awesome fried fillet (all different, of course, because Japan...)
- first toilet blockage dealt with
- some neighborhood children have started to run to say hi when they see you coming
- managing to take the correct exit out of the station (more than not, at least..)
- having thrown out over half of the about twenty categories of trash, the collection dates of which rotate over approximately 2 weeks
- managing to NOT f-up the made-every-morning-for-two-previous-years porridge in the new situation
- having been to the police station twice
Getting the hang of the light switches in this place might be a hopeless cause, though. Whoever designed some of the things here... Nnghhggg.
Getting some (select) neighbors to actually say hello back might also be a stretch.
Cheers,
Hedi
