Yakiimo, I've learnt, once they changed their presence in my life from the dried-through 100yen lawson version eaten maybe thrice a year + perhaps twice-a-year occasion of a really good one from somewhere else, into something that is constantly sold (at a neat quality and an affordable price of 198 yen apiece) in our home-supermarket, are very-very difficult to avoid. To the point that I've had to establish a mental rule on self of not buying any, unless it's late at night, and the last few have been half-discounted. Not for the monetary gain, you see, just to have SOME sort of deterrent from eating myself silly after each and every shopping trip.
This, though, does not stop me from getting way too many dried-snack sweet potato versions, half-dried snack versions, fresh ones to be baked or boiled at home, caramellized-sauced versions, puddings, dumplings, creams, buns, anything with sweet potato as garnish, chocolates, chips, ice-creams etc etc. I have a problem :P.
(Could be worse, could be chocolate... ah, wait...)
Cheers,
Hedi
