Olfactory discoveries

Turns out some people do NOT like the smell of tomatoes (even though they may like the taste). Sitting here and being unable to wrap my head around it. How can you buy tomatoes without smelling them first to detect which ones are good? How can you not spend extra time on the balcony shuffling the tomato leaves to catch a whiff and be transported back into your childhood and grandparents' summer cottage greenhouse with the limitless all colour, shape and hairiness of those amazing vegetables? (They are berries, mind you!) How can you go about housework without your nose occasionally turning towards the windowsill with a row of shop-sold-too-green-but-will-be-supertasty-in-a-few-days tomatoes suntanning and spreading the scent?
Mystery. Complete mystery.

Cheers,
Hedi
