Rape seed oil = short-term rust cover for cast iron pan handles, reapply after five-ish washes ; removal of non-polar glues (any that ethanol doesn't remove, that is) ; general cooking
Sesame-, rice-, linseed-, sunflower-, coconut- olive oil = specialised cuisines
Candle wax = burning ; lubricating zippers ; stopping rubbing and creaking in household items like a swivelling towel holder etc
